There?s some exciting news today for those of you that are hard core Android fans. Guess what it is yet? It?s the announcement from the Big Android BBQ that Andrew Bell from Dead Zebra and Steve Kondik from Cyanogenmod will be attending the event.
By now you have probably heard about the Big Android BBQ, an event started three years ago by members of the Android community to create a space where people could come together and talk about Google?s mobile OS. What had originally started as an Android meetup for 350 people has grown into a full-fledged conference that has caught the interest of people like Bell and Kondik.
You likely recognize Andrew Bell as the man behind the official Android figurine sets released by Google in support of the mobile OS, as well as other pop culture art items. Bell has announced that he will be present at the Big Android BBQ this year for a Q and A session as well as have a booth at the event with products from his Android Foundry site. Rumor also has it that Bell will also be judging a DIY Andy competition, where attendees can show off their skills in designing their own versions of the Android mascot using the ?blank? white Andy?s that are available.
Steve Kondik and a large part of the Cyanogenmod team will also be attending the event. With over one million devices running Cyanogenmod, it?s by far one of the most popular modifications of the open sourced mobile OS out there. Kondik and his crew of developers will be the closing keynote speakers for the event, talking about the current development of the popular Android mod as well as future features that are being worked on and discussed.
The event takes place October 19th ?through the 21st at the Hurst Conference Center?located in Hurst, Texas. Tickets for the event start at $50 and are still available. However the word is that tickets are selling quickly, so make sure to get yours today since there is a limit to how many can be sold. See you in Texas this October!
