Who is this wonderful person, challenging us with the question : ?Are You the Public Speaker You Hope to Be?? on October 8th next week at 1 pm Eastern?
ForbesWoman says she?s one of the 30 women entrepreneurs to follow on Twitter.
She?s also an Executive Board member of DC Web Women.
You probably know her as the founding editor of our proud publication, Women Grow Business.
In her daily life, she is a speechwriter, public speaking coach, and founder of Live Your Talk.
To me, she?s just the ever-astounding Jill Foster, incredible in so many ways that there?s scarcely space to share all she does. And yes, my friend.
That didn?t sound very impartial and objective, did it? Allow me to explain?
I Challenge You to Be Impartial About Jill Foster
I?m a day and a half late in writing this.
About ten times I stopped and started, erased and began again, because I was attempting to write this in a way that was objective and balanced.
But ask anyone who knows Jill ?- she?s one of those people you can?t help but be, well, enchanted with ? not just her but the idea that people like her exist in the world, period. (Yes, I did ask other people to write this for me so it would be more objective. A couple of them laughed, the other gave me one of those looks.)
And so I?m just going to leave that as my disclaimer ? in my opinion, she is a wonderful person. No need to believe me, you?ll find out on your own when you attend the chat. For now, I?ll just do my best to give you all the factual evidence you need to see why you should come to her session next Monday about public speaking.
Just know that I can?t write this profile of her without using a fairly indecent amount of superlative adjectives.
Jill Foster, as previously mentioned, is the founding editor of our publication. I?m being quite literal when I say that none of this would be here without her. She and the editor before me, Shonali Burke, handed me an incredible legacy and such a rich foundation to move forward that it has been much more of a pleasure than a toil to serve.
She was great at that and still advises me. But where she truly shines and thrives is in providing guidance to public speakers, from the aspiring to the accomplished.
As it says on her site: ?Jill works with award-winning entrepreneurs, CEOs, and innovators makin? it happen as public speakers ? on stages like?TED?and?TEDx,?Ignite, plus a variety of?keynotes around the globe. ?In 2010, she led?TEDxPotomac?s speaker coaching team, supporting speaker voices like Alexandra Cousteau and Craig Newmark.?
More About Jill
The most objective I can be is to continue to quote directly from her website where some of her media accomplishments are listed:
That?s right. I said some. More recently, she was featured in the Huffington Post again in an article called ?You vs. Meryl Streep: Confronting Barriers as a Public Speaker?. You cannot miss this chat if speaking in front of groups, large or small, is any part of your career.
To be reminded when upcoming chats are approaching, including this one, sign up for free on?our Eventbrite page, where you can also get the event added to your calendar after signing up.?
